Happiness is

Happiness is a state of mind. I honestly do believe it's possible to be happy in pretty much any situation, as long as you alter what you desire to get out of it. However, some situations are better than others. Take, for instance, a first date to the local art museum.

That's what Judith and I did yesterday, anyways. We went in planning on taking a bunch of pictures and just generally enjoying being all cultured and refined. Unfortunately, this silly museum had a no photography rule. Disappointing, to say the least, because there was some amazing stuff in there.

On the other hand,  there were two pieces that were just too cool to not secretly take a picture via my phone.

I don't quite recall when these were made, but they're "modern", so no "ZOMG slendy so old" references like I was hoping I could find somewhere in all that art. However, I still find these things as creepy as hell. Which makes them amazing.

As for the other piece I risked snapping a picture for... Well, we all know that the writers of the ancient myths were a wee bit rape happy. There were a couple pieces of art that depicted these scenes by showing the man running off with his victim thrown over her shoulder. Normally, I wouldn't find anything at all interesting about these things but...

Behold one of the single most amazing rape faces to grace actual art. Puffed cheeks, lips shoved forward... I nearly died laughing when I saw this in the museum.

The rest of the day was pretty normal. Went out to dinner, hit the mall, watched a movie. Capped it off with our first kiss and a happy photo for my new phone wallpaper.

Judith and I... we be awesome. Already planning on doubling with my roommate and her girlfriend later this month. Should be fantastic times.
